What is DLT registration?
DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) registration is required by TRAI for any business sending commercial SMS in India. You register your business as a principal entity, then register your sender IDs (headers) and message templates. Messages that do not match registered details are not delivered.
What is the difference between promotional and transactional SMS?
Promotional SMS carries offers or marketing and is not delivered to numbers on the DND register. Transactional and service SMS carry information the customer needs, such as OTPs, order updates or bills, and follow separate rules.
What time can promotional SMS be sent?
Under TRAI rules, promotional SMS can only be delivered between 9 am and 9 pm. We schedule campaigns within this window.
What do the -P, -S, -T and -G header suffixes mean?
Under TRAI’s 2025 amendment, operators show a suffix after the sender ID to tell recipients the message type: P for promotional, S for service, T for transactional and G for government.
Do I need my own DLT registration?
Yes. The DLT registration is in your company’s name, using your business documents. We help you complete it and then link it to our sending platform through the PE-TM chain.
Can I send SMS without templates?
No. Every commercial SMS must match a registered template. Variable parts such as names or amounts are allowed only where the template defines them.
